Workshop Summary  

This workshop will outline possible career pathways for the Careers Adviser and how to build your professional capacity to pursue leadership positions including:

  • Professional Development Plans – what to put in?
  • Working with your school executive for leadership and capacity building opportunities.
  • Sourcing professional development that is both relevant for your Careers role and your own career development.
  • Sourcing capacity building secondments such as working with Rural and Distance Education and other units within your school sector.
  • Maximising your networks for opportunities.

About the Presenter

Rebecca is an experienced and passionate educator who has worked with the NSW Department of Education since 1993. She has extensive experience as a Careers Adviser, in several school leadership roles and on other NSW Department of Education units such as Rural and Distance Education.
